Time

The first things that stand out from this piece are the breathtaking colors and the well thought-out composition. Although there are many naturally beautiful places on Earth, the distinguishing characteristic of skilled photographers is their ability to choose the best way the picture should be framed in order to tell a story or to convey a concept, and the artist has done this in a highly original manner. The angle chosen shows both a straight skyline and a clearly sloping hill (with the sunset shades making its texture prominent) beside each other, and the combined effect with the contrasting colors creates a subtle and very slight sense of disorientation within the viewer. For this reason, the piece is aptly titled "Time": something abstract of which we as human beings are aware, but have not fully grasped.
